Direct Primary Care (DPC) is an innovative solution to the things that frustrate patients and providers alike. For an affordable monthly fee, members access to timely comprehensive care, with same or next day access and a meaningful relationship with their doctor. That’s it. Direct Primary Care is similar to Concierge Medicine in some ways, but with key differences.  The biggest difference is that in Concierge Medicine practices, providers bill insurance for their services on top of charging a monthly or annual fee, one that tends to be much higher than the fees charged by a typical Direct Primary Care practice.  For this reason Concierge or “Boutique” Medicine practices tend to attract wealthy individuals.  Direct Primary Care practices on the other hand typically do not bill insurance and charge membership fees that aim to be affordable to most. Together with cost savings from lab fees, radiology, and medications, Direct Primary Care practices look to combine superior care with lower costs to bring value to primary care.

In any other industry, insurance is the policy you carry to cover you in the case of a catastrophe.  Only in medicine do we look to insurance to cover everyday issues, like regular visits to your primary care provider.  The results of such a design are predictable and devastating; overwhelming documentation burden, confusing claims process, lack of transparent pricing, delays in reimbursement, etc.  Shifting to a direct primary care relationship means you will be assured access to the best care when you need it for all of your primary care needs.  Should you choose to, you might then consider changing your health insurance coverage to a plan that provides coverage in case of serious illness but at a lower premium.  Add in some of the other perks offered in a DPC arrangement, such as reduced costs for medications, blood work, and radiology, and many find they receive better care in a DPC arrangement for a lower overall cost.

The monthly membership fee covers all typical primary care needs, including management of acute issues such as illness or injury, of chronic illness such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity (including prescribing new obesity medications), common procedures such as joint injections, minor skin biopsy/excision/cryotherapy. In addition, as a member you will have access to discounted medications, lab studies, and radiology studies using the best available local resources.

Your membership fee includes recommended annual preventative labs (CBC, CMP, TSH, periodic lipid panel, and PSA) at no additional cost to you, drawn right here in the reMDdirect clinic by our very talented staff.  Any lab work outside of these routine studies will be billed at or near cost (according to special pricing arrangements negotiated with regional labs) to the individual responsible for the membership.

reMDdirect is the brand name for our new primary care practice, designed specifically to meet the needs of the people of the Magic Valley, located in the Renaissance Office Park on College Rd in Twin Falls.  The practice was created by Dr. Michael Duffy MD, a family physician with over 20 years of clinical experience, much of it right here in Twin Falls.

At reMDdirect we understand that not all health care needs happen between the hours of 9 and 5.  Members enjoy 24/7 access to a physician by phone, text, or email.

reMDdirect is always available to you, by phone, text, email, or video call.  Our goal is to meet your needs whenever and wherever they occur.

No, we do not charge a registration fee. We do however, just ask for the first and last months’ payment at time of joining.

The membership is month to month, with no long term obligation and there is no cancellation fee. There is however a $100 re-enrollment fee.
